I installed the memory sticks in seconds. I noticed the much improved performance as soon as I started to edit/open my 50mb photo files in aperture3 while I continued listening to music and checking my emails.Its worth upgrading your memory when you are looking for performance. Wasn't sure how this was all going to go but ordered this memory as it was the cheapest & the site has a lot of quality feedback on this item so took a chance. [...] is a wonderfull source of information & I found how to change the ram there, followed step by step & was powering up within 15 mins of starting, really couldn't be any more simple. It has done everything i wanted it to & i can now happily run itunes with photoshop without photoshop suffering, it has made my iMac slicker & i've fallen in love with it again for a second time. Upgraded from 2gb to 4gb (maxed out now *sobs*)

As video editor I use my iMac (24 inch, 3.06 gHz)for Final Cut Pro, Motion, After Effects and Color. With this memory upgrade I can run all these programs simultaniously smoothly.
Before the upgrade I worked with the standard 2GB RAM configuration. The 4GB upgrade just works better and smoother.

This is the third mac/macbook that I have upgraded via Crucial. Each time the process was straightforward, using the tools on the website to select the appropriate memory upgrade. [...] each time, the memory worked without any problems. The big plus is that the cost is around half as much as it would do over the Apple website. What's not to like? I use Pro Tools, Logic, Premier Pro, Final Cut, After Effects, PS CS4, In Design, Illustrator. Quick and easy stuff I use are things like iMovie, iPhoto, Garage Band etc. First thing i noticed was multi-track compositions in Pro Tools playing instantly when commanded.

This was VERY easy to install once I had used any of many videos on youtube to demonstrate it.

Like almost anything in the computing world once you get to the maximum upgrade you get deminishing returns. For example to upgrade from 1gb to 2gb would give you massively noticeably different processing power and from 2gb to 4gb less noticeably so....however I have noticed that I can run far more applications stably at once.

Did I add that this was the cheapest module I could find on the market too?

I used this to boost an iMac to its max of 4Gb, however note that the (current) iMac can only address 3Gb of this RAM.
This adds limited value for standard applications, but is very helpful if you intend making serious use of Parallels or VMware Fusion as you can assign a full Gb to Windows without hindering OS X.
