Primarily bought the Ram as I wanted to run vmWare on my machine, already had 2 gigs of ram, so I figured I wouldn't really see much of a difference in the normal day to day running unless under strain, but the 4 gigs does make a difference, especially if you trying to multitask. Would highly recommend upgrading, especially if you are only currently running on 1 gig, you'd be amazed how much memory just using a web browser, word processor and picture view all open at once can use.

Upgraded using the "Crucial System Scanner tool" that confirmed I could use 2x 2Gb modules in my MacBook as I was in the grey area as to if my Macbook could support 2Gb or 4Gb, the scanner made it easy and 4Gb was ordered.

Memory arrived with 3 days installed in about 10 minutes, my first time upgrading a Mac, did download a guide from Apple as I had been warned the memory modules need a good "push" to get them back in properly but all went well and worked straight out of the box.

I am running Snow Leopard so 64bit applications, the Mac can have multiple desktops working at the same time and I can confirm that with 4Gb I can burn a DVD in one space, play and download with iTunes in another, and even have Skype and video on another space all working with no problems at all a definite improvement.

The product finder made it so easy to select the right memory chips.

I was a bit worried about tackling the installation but once I had the right tools - a really dinky screwdriver, it went fine.

One thing I am unsure of is whether I should have left the Crucial labels on the memory modules? So far they have not caused me a problem.

My Macbook was instantly a lot snappier to operate.

I am really pleased with the outcome.

It was so easy to install this product that it could be done by nursery kids. I have never upgraded any computer before never mind a laptop but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again or encourage someone else to. There is a definate improvement - but then moving RAM from 1 gig to 4 I would hope there would be!

This product works on all macbooks with the core 2 duo processors. On late 2006 and mid 2007 macbooks the 4GB shows in About this mac but the system can only use 3GB.
