Purchased for my Dell Inspiron 1300.

Very easy to install, didn't need to download/update anything. Just Open cover on Laptop and click into place - Plenty of video tutorials online if you're scared of it - i was!

Helps me to run a few thing at once on my laptop and seems to have stopped IE nonresponsive issues!

Expected a couple of programs to run quicker (video conversion, DVD burning etc) since they have done in the past but this didn't help much with that but i'm guessing that's just another issue.

I have never had a bad Crucial RAM module yet in all the years of PC support I have provided.

RAM upgrades are the bast value for money upgrades that can be done, and done easily.

Just beware that for some systems, pairs of modules are recommended to maintain dual-channel performance.

Bought this to prolong the life of my brother's laptop which originally only came with 512Mb RAM. It was beginning to take upwards of 5 minutes to be usable from power-on, and it turned out the anti-virus and one or two other utilities loaded on start up were consuming nearly all of the available memory. The upgrade has helped tremendously - there is much less disk activity now slowing things down (caused by the OS swapping things out to disk to free up memory.)

Obviously the processing power of older machines is a little limited, and this upgrade will not help with that, but if your computer seems to be very slow and constantly accessing the hard disk, this should definitely help.

the process from ordering to installing was only 24 hrs, the installation was so east it was untrue

Installation was very easy. Windoze then booted up first time with no problems. Rather like plug-and-play devices. Increase in speed of applications is definitely noticeable but not staggering, so don't expect more than a simple upgrade can offer.

I've used the memory on my son's laptop. It was getting ridiculously slow at booting up (3-4 minutes). I actually wiped the hard disk and reinstalled windows, but by the time I downloaded the windows updates and installed the anti-virus it was as slow as ever. I put the new memory in and now it is back to a normal bootup time.
