I was! I had decided to replace my 7 year old Dell 8300 desktop,as I was getting more and more annoyed with it's sluggish performance, but I looked at the spec and realised that the 512MB memory was the main reason that it couldn't keep up with modern applications etc. So, instead of replacing the machine , I spent [$] on 2x1GB memory modules, flashed the Bios with the latest version (A07)before I added the new boards,and fitted the modules within 10 minutes (2.5GB in total)...now the machine absolutely flys!! it's running the original XP Pro,and it's quicker than my 1 year old Laptop. Complete success!
