I bought 2 One Gig cards to replace the Compaq's two 500Mb, the biggest bonus of having 2Gb is the reduction in disk memory paging and a discernable improvement in performance. Well recommended and easy to fit.

Found I had 2x512MB cards when I opened up my laptop to install new 1GB card. Consequently I only gained 512MB but that is sufficient to make it work much better. May well buy another if necessary in future.

Bought 1GB but when I opened up my machine to install I found I had 2*512MB cards installed so I only gained 512MB. Why did the Laptop manufacturer not put a 1GB card in to begin with. It has improved performance greatly but I may return for another card in the future.
