Having little technical competance, I followed the instruction slip in the box, fit the two new memory cards, put everything back together and switched on to a massive improvement in system performance. (I did also clear out so old system trash identified by some free scan software.)

I was not able to get my old computer memory increased. It simply did not like the computer which kept beeping. It is not worth my whole getting a pro to come in and install so I just bought a new computer. I do not know why it did not work.

Desk-top PC, bought in 2002 and running on Windows XP with Pentium 4 (2.2MHz), but with only 256 MB of RAM. Used primarily for home office operations (e-mail & internet, word processing and home accounts, etc); began to slow down and seize up completely on account of anti-virus and other background operations. Replacement of existing 256 MB RAM with 2 x 512 MB = 1,024 MB has freed up completely and given PC new lease of life.

Having cleaned and reinstalled XP on my daughters virus damaged PC, her files were rcovered and it was running clean but had no spare disk space or memory and was barely crawling along - so I added some disk and memory which made a big improvement.

I do intensive photo and video editing - I wanted to double my Ram from 1gb to 2gb. Everything now runs a lot faster and smoother. It was frustratingly easy to do, so why didn't I do it sooner?!?! The 'Crucial System Scan' was a doddle to use and, although I shopped around, Crucial was as competitive as the rest with a good reputation to boot! Short Answer: Don't bother going elsewhere!

I was having problems (PC restarts/hangups/BSODs) with A.N.Other brand modules & had them replaced twice, to no avail. The Crucial modules work perfectly. No hangups, no restarts, no BSODs. They just do exactly what they should do. My next purchase will be Crucial again.
