Bought this ram as part of a service and upgrade I performed for a colleague as he gave up on his old PC for a year. As with all previous ram from Crucial, I've always been impressed with the speed and reliability of the product. Another important factor is that Crucial sell these as matched pairs where others don't. My colleague was really impressed and new life restored to an old machine.

Couldn't believe how easy these memory strips were to install. Didn't even have to unscrew the cover on my Dell Inspiron 1100. Just slide of the side cover, removed the old strip (which I'm using to upgrate my mother in laws old PC) and clipped in the new. Good hoover around to remove the dust and job done. PC not astonishingly faster but just not sitting around for hours for it to boot up anymore.

I`m very happy I listened to my 34 year old sons advice on adding extra memory rather than throwing my old Dell 1100 Dimension into the bin. Excellent bit of kit now my computer is 10 times faster than before.Stuff that had stopped working properly is now spot on.No creaks and groans from the hard drive struggling to keep up.

A friend told me is Windows XP PC was taking an hour to boot.

When is was booting it was trying to use 750MB of memory. The PC was spending all its time thrashing the swap file.

1GB of RAM and a clean up and defrag of the hard disk later. It was only taking 5 minutes to start.

I also showed him how to remove programs that he and his wife were not using.

My dell pc sadly has an old (or just pathetic) motherboard and it was getting difficult to even play the most basic of games nevermind trying to open internet explorer. This was the perfect boost i need, surprisingly making this hunk of junk move faster than my mothers brand new laptop :) It was easy to install, and did what it was needed to do and more. Highly recomended for people just needing a boost.
