I had 256mb before fitting 2x 512mb cards and it couldn't get much easier to be honest,it made a big difference to the boot up and general usage - highly recommended.

This has changed an ageing laptop into a useful product with some future. The original memory was only 256Mb. Now it has 1Gb of Crucial memory it performs like a more modern PC.
