I was really struggling when using my laptop, it took sometimes upto half an hour if not more to view a different web page. I consider myself to be a proficient user of computers, but when it comes to programming etc... I really did not have a clue. I was about to cancel my broadband service because I thought my laptop needed replacing, I have had it for about 6 years. I decided as a last resort to purchase some memory before forking out about £400 for a new laptop. I followed the instructions provided by Crucial to install the memory and also the instructions from Toshiba, my laptop manufacturer. I could not believe the difference, it now performs like a new computer. The hard disk drive, LED light was constantly lit and now it flashes when accessing programmes. I truly did not expect the memory to work because I did not think the problem could be fixed so cheaply and easily, but I was wrong. The results are fantastic and I can now surf the net very easily and watch i player without seeing freezing pictures.

84 yr old dad had and old Toshiba sold to him by an 'expert'. It was yawningly slow ( I think 256 RAM).On a visit I thought must be RAM. Therefore Crucial. I left. [...] He now phones me ( Ireland to France) saying he normally goes off to have a cup of tea when he presses the enter key. 'Now it makes the noise and it's done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'Thanks again Crucial

The only problem was that the Toshiba M50 laptop did not allow this to be mixed with the existing 512MB module. This was not clear in the scan and suggested options so ended up buying two of these. Crucial very helpful though

After installation the new 1gb ram chip worked fine, but didn't work with the old 512mb chip. I have since removed one chip and then the other and both work with the machine, but not together. As the new chip was so cheap I'm gonna get another 1gb which will hopefully work with the first 1gb, but it was the chip Crucial recommended me after using their system scan app so was a little disappointed.
