My RAM upgrade was carried out after my graphics card burnt out,I was intrested in Win 7 from my current XP & was advised to increase my RAM.Having only ever installed new DVD drives I was wary of doing this myself but really it coul;dn't have been any easier!

Came with clear instructions and troubleshooting advice, which was good because I replaced 2 x 256mb RAM with 2 x 1GB and put the 2 new modules into the currently used 2 slots ....and it didn't work, just got a lot of beeping noises. Took them out and put them into the 2 other slots and this time all worked fine. Noticeably faster performance from PC. Don't know what I'd have done if I hadn't got the other 2 spare slots though.

Not too sure what to put here, heard that by increasing the memory that I would see a great improvement. Sadly to say the earth did not move so I must investigate what else needs my attention to have the pc work faster - any ideas?

Upgraded an old Dell Dimension 6400 which had become very unstable under XP. Added the 2Gb and Windows 7, now like having a new computer and for under £100 for the memory and OS. Very easy to fit, step by step pictorial instructions are on the Dell website, no electrical knowledge needed, highly reccomended.

Installation was quick and easy. The crucial website really makes sure than you get the right component for your computer.
There was no change in performance at this stage as my computer isn't yet short of memory, this upgrade should ensure that it stays that way.
