Difficult to install not due to crucial but due to Apple using stupid screws. The PH00 screws were overtightened in my MBP meaning that the screw heads got chewed up and I had to drill one of them out.

If Apple had a bit better quality control or if I was installing into a Mac Mini this would not have been an issue. Once I could access the RAM installing it was easy.

Excellent product. I am a Music producer and have found that I can now load up many more plugins and Logic 64-bit will address more than 4GB now.

I've bought this memory upgrade to improve the performance of my MacBook Pro, after upgrading to Snow Leopard. As a programmer, my development environments and a lot of browser windows did tax my system bit too much with only 2 GB. The installation was easy and smooth. Now I enjoy much more responsive system and hope to gain even more performance, as the programs I use are upgraded to 64 bits and the 32 bit subsystem stops stealing systems resources for duplicated libraries.

It's a sad fact that the price of memory fluctuates wildly from week to week but Crucial are always competitive. These work great in my MacBook pro and doubled my memory for less than half what it would have cost me to get my notebook built with this much RAM. Good stuff!

If you have a MacBook Pro with only 2GB RAM which I do, I bought mine late 2008 soon after the aluminum unibodies were released, this 4GB Crucial kit is essential! It dramatically improved the speed and response of all applications on Snow leopard running on 64bit, the installation is very very easy and it only takes around 15 mins.
Once again it is worth upgrading just the RAM on your Mac instead of getting a new Macbook Pro, well at least for me, this will keep me going for another year.

As always, a great addition to any computer and extremely reliable. I've used Crucial ram for almost 15 years and never had a problem. That's not to say it's always easy to install. The new MacBook Pro makes it reasonably easy to install ram with a few screws under the base to release the cover. Not so easy on an iMac where non-technical people might have trouble in taking the case apart. However, once installed the Crucial ram is invaluable.

Crucial's system scanner tool was awesome as it allowed me to order the correct RAM without needing to double-check on the techno mumbo jumbo. If they'd just add a few installation guides to their site, they'd be pretty much perfect!

The doubling of the standard 2GB to 4GB has made a real difference to the ability to run multiple applications across different spaces. Especially noticeable is the increase in speed when running multiple Apple apps along with Parallels apps. Competitive pricing, excellent service.

I own a number of Apple computers and I always max out the memory. Using Crucial memory is a lot more cost effective than getting Apple to install at point of order.
