Crucial SSDs

Next generation

Crucial's newest SSDs are even faster. Find out what it can do for you.

Crucial will launch its updated line of Crucial solid state drive (SSD) products on 20 July 2009. The refreshed product line – the Crucial M225 series – features MLC NAND flash components housed in an industry standard 2.5-inch drive enclosure with a SATA 2.0 interface. Crucial SSDs are available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities. What's the most dramatic change for this new generation of SSDs? Blazing-fast read and write speeds. The 256GB M225 Crucial SSD provides an impressive 250MB/sec read speed and a 200MB/sec write speed. The 128GB M225 SSD offers a 250MB/sec read speed and a 190MB/sec write speed, while the 64GB M225 SSD offers a 200MB/sec read speed and a 150MB/sec write speed. Crucial SSD products are an excellent alternative to the traditional hard drive found in notebooks. SSDs have no moving parts, making them a quieter, cooler, and more durable storage solution.

News Flash

From Think Computers:
The experts at Think Computers were feeling anything but blue when they tested the Crucial Ballistix Tracer Blue DDR3-1600 6GB kit.

Reviewer Jack Wager writes: "The Crucial Ballistix Tracer Blue DDR3-1600 is everything I expected from a triple channel kit from Crucial. It looks good, I particularly like the blue LEDS over the earlier Tracer kits I've owned. …The DDR3-1600 6GB performs well, and has a high level of flexibility. For the motherboard incapable of overclocking, I was able to get CAS 5 timings at a lower clock speed at the standard DDR3 VDIMM of 1.5v. For the overclocker, I was able to attain a 21% overclock, allowing for plenty of headroom for overclocking the CPU. I was also able to tighten the timings at DDR3-1600 to 7-8-7-24, a feat that is seldom accomplished (by me, anyway)."
