Installs extremely easily

  • Very easy to install

  • No Sata Power Connector

Extremely simple to install - happy with my purchase and would reccommend to anyone looking for a Desktop installation kit.

I'd have given this a 5 star rating, except no SATA power connector is included in the kit. Most Desktops will have spare connections available, sadly mine did not which meant an extra trip the shops to use the new Crucial SSD I was connecting to.

  • Ease of install

  • I Had To Buy New Software
  • Image Cd Would Not Boot
  • None Of The Kit Was Used

Best Uses

I bought the kit to make the install easy. However what I found was that the Image software was not compatible with Windows 8 and did not boot on my other Windows 7 PC.

I also found I could connect the new SSD using the existing DVD connectors for data and power and then clone the old hard drive using a $49 download of Acronis 2013 Image software. My PC a Packard Bell iMedia S2870 had mounting holes for a 2.5" drive and so none of the kit was used.

The problem is you don't know until you know. I may have needed all the kit. Check first if you can before ordering the kit as it may not be needed.

Easy to use, fits just fine.
A little expensive for what it is, but handy being available from same supplier as SSD.
