Comments about Crucial 512MB Upgrade for a IBM ThinkPad R40 Series (Type 2682) System:

I bought this product to try to put a bit of juice in an old laptop. At the beginning I was afraid that (despite what the memory configurator said) I could have compatibility issues as it might happen sometimes with memory. That was not the case. The memory was exactly what I needed and installed with no problem. Overall the upgrade was successful and I am happy with it. Before the upgrade the laptop had become basically unusable (with the latest OS and program updates) while now I can work with it at acceptable speed and use it as a second laptop for the family. To be honest for some multimedia tasks I am now seeing the limitation of the video card but that's another story.
