Dam Good Value, and Dam Innovative Awards
"Fortunately, while there are faster drives available, there are few which are as well balanced as the M500 480GB. Unless blistering speed is your only priority, then its unique blend of characteristics will make this an excellent choice for a broad range of consumers. If you are in the market for a mega-sized SSD which has neither a budget-busting price tag nor is lacking in performance, the Crucial M500 480GB deserves serious consideration." Full review

"The Crucial M500 looks to bring MLC into a price-competitive position with TLC. This has paid dividends with a very low-priced SSD with decent performance. When comparing the price vs. performance of the M500 against the other top-flight SSDs in our roundup we can see that the M500 easily offers the best bang for the buck at the higher capacities. We caution readers that the 120GB and 240GB SSDs feature markedly lower specifications which buyers will need to take into consideration." Full review

Computing On Demand Gold Award Crucial m4 SSD
Gold Award
"As we see the SSD popularity rise and the HDD's fall, we are getting closer and closer to the mark where SSDs can be as common; they are no longer just for the enthusiast. Crucial is bridging that gap by bringing us an SSD in the form of the M4, which not only performs but is under $1.00 per GB. The drive's performance is unquestionable, and packaging the M4 with a data transfer kit, which makes it much more attractive to those that might be tentative about tinkering too much, is sheer brilliance.

The M4 SSD 128GB delivers on both affordability and performance making it a no brainer." Full review

April 2012 — Award Crucial Adrenaline SSC
Awesome Hardware Award
"Overall, I was surprised and very pleased with the results of the Adrenaline. Crucial is marketing it as hassle-free, plug-and-play, near SSD performance and they hit the nail on the head. It could not have been easier to use. No formatting, no partitioning, no worrying about which drive to install programs. Just plug it in and your computer is faster. As far as performance goes, the aim of this drive is to make general everyday computing feel quicker, which it accomplishes. Looking at the numbers in the benchmarks is one thing but when you wake up in the morning and hit the power button on your tower that is when you really feel the difference. Everything is ready to go much faster, programs open significantly quicker, and the system just feels more responsive ... At only $100, there are very few easier or cheaper ways to make such a large performance difference to your computer. I would recommend this drive to anyone who wants to make their existing computer noticeably quicker without the hassles of a small SSD or the price of a larger SSD." Full review

"The landscape changes significantly with the Crucial Adrenaline Solid State Caching SSD. At $99, the cost for a system facelift is far from prohibitive, installation is quick and easy, there is no need to change your computer landscape whatsoever and NVELO DataPlex will work with any capacity SSD. It is like supercharging your car." Full review

"The M4 also did a better job of keeping its performance in our "used drive torture test" but I won't pay much attention to that test, as it doesn't replicate real performance as well. That being said, the M4 won most overall tests that use relatively common levels of compression. That includes 4K IO transfer, and both versions of PCMark." Full review

"Crucial's m4 256GB solid state drive is a little gem. It can supply very fast read and write transfer rates, and it will noticeably boost the performance of a laptop or desktop PC when it's used as a system drive. "The Crucial m4 128GB is a solid buy that will increase your user experience by running your daily tasks quickly...What we learned today is that the Crucial m4 is a real competitor to the SandForce SF-2281 controlled drives with 25nm IMFT flash....What we are left with is a next generation SATA III SSD that is more than fast enough for nearly all users and a very good value when compared to the competition….The Bottom Line: The Crucial m4 128GB is a solid buy that will increase your user experience by running your daily tasks quickly. "As stated right from the outset, finding this SSD even lower was a huge benefit although, myself, I might be more inclined to purchase directly from Crucial, given that I would want the security of a direct sale and customer support for such a purchase. "Construction is probably the strongest feature credited to the entire SSD product segment, and Crucial products have never offered any exception. Solid State Drives are by nature immune to most abuses, but add to this a hard metal shell and you have to wonder what it would take to make this drive fail. If a Crucial m4/Micron RealSSD C400-series SSD product fails during the limited 3-year warranty period, end-users can contact Lexar/Crucial via the company website or SSD support forum. There's also a toll-free telephone number for support or customer service questions available at 800-336-8915." Full review
